You may experience installation problems or issues with the original installation of your Land Desktop 2006 software product.

In these cases, it is strongly recommended that you completely remove Land Desktop 2006 from the system, and then attempt a new installation on the system.

To uninstall Land Desktop 2006 and remove any remnants of this product from the system, follow the steps outlined below:

Uninstall Land Desktop 2006

1. On the Start menu (Windows), click Settings > Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
3. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, select Land Desktop 2006 and click Add/Remove.
   (For Windows 2000, click Change/Remove; for Windows XP Professional, click Remove).
4. Click Yes when prompted to confirm that you want to completely remove the program and all of its components.
5. If you are prompted to remove shared files, click No to All, and then click Yes when prompted for confirmation to proceed.
6. After the uninstall procedure is complete, click OK.
7. Restart the computer.

Remove any remaining Land Desktop 2006 files

1. In Windows Explorer, delete the following Land Desktop 2006 installation folder:
   C:Program FilesAutodesk Land Desktop 2006

   Note: If your operating system is configured to store the Program Files folder on a drive other than C, adjust the file path accordingly.

2. Delete the C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodeskAutodesk Land Desktop 2006 folder.
3. Delete the following folders:
   • C:Documents and Settings<user>Application DataAutodeskAutodesk Land Desktop 2006
   • C:Documents and Settings<user>Local SettingsApplication DataAutodeskAutodesk Land Desktop 2006

Note: You need to delete these folders for each Windows user account.

Remove any remaining entries for Land Desktop 2006 from the Windows Registry

1. Log on to the computer as a member of the local Administrators group.
2. On the Start menu (Windows), click Run.
3. In the Run dialog box, enter regedit.
4. In the Registry Editor, locate the following subkeys and delete them:

1. • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAutodeskAutoCADR16.2ACAD-4008:409
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareAutodeskAutoCADR16.2ACAD-4008:409

5. Close the Registry Editor.
6. Restart the computer.

Before reinstalling the Autodesk Land Desktop 2006 programs

In Windows Explorer, delete the contents of your Windows Temp folder. If you are working with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows Me, the Windows Temp folder will usually be found in the C:WindowsTemp directory. If you are working with Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP, your Windows Temp folder will usually be found in the C:Documents and Settings<user>Local SettingsTemp directory.

You should also close and temporarily disable any anti-virus software that may be running on the system. You can use the End Task feature to close the antivirus software. Disabling the software from the system tray may not be sufficient. Anti-virus software may be used to block certain activities (accessing the registry, adding/removing/updating DLL files, and so on) that are seen as suspicious, even though these activities are common when installing or removing programs.

Several anti-virus programs can be disabled by right-clicking the taskbar icon and clicking Disable on the shortcut menu. For more information about disabling your particular anti-virus software, refer to the vendor of that software.

To verify an antivirus program is not running in the background as a TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident Program)
